City Council District Boundary Map Submittals
The City of El Cajon has received several proposed City Council district maps from the public. This page includes all maps received by the City that have been reviewed by the City's demographic consultants for compliance with the districting criteria adopted by the City Council on February 14, 2017. It also includes three maps created by the demographic consultant for consideration.
These maps were discussed and reviewed during a Community Workshop on April 18, 2017. The PowerPoint presentation given at this meeting is provided below. Note that maps submitted after April 18 were not included in the presentation or workshop discussion.
At it's regularly scheduled meeting on May 9, 2017, the City Council reviewed all 21 maps that were received by May 2, 2017 and reviewed for compliance by the City's hired demographer. At the conclusion of the meeting, the City Council selected 5 maps as the "focus maps" they would consider in greater detail during the following meeting. These focus maps are indicated below.
The next City Council meeting is May 23, 2017, at 7:00 pm in the City Council Chamber. They will discuss the 5 "focus maps" and also review the two new maps that were submitted prior to May 16, 2017.
